Beat a Drug Test
Drug tests are unfortunately a common part of life nowadays, and practically everyone who is seeking employment or go into government service will have to go through the procedure at some point.
Of course, the best way to pass a drug test is to simply not take drugs at all. However, many people do use drugs on occasion, and there are many valid reasons for doing so. Marijuana has been legalized in no less than 18 states and in Washington D.C. and it is commonly prescribed for a wide variety of illnesses as well as to ease the symptoms of certain medications and medical treatments. Still other people use opiate based drugs as a means to control chronic pain resulting from a serious injury.
Even if you don’t take drugs, there are reasons to be apprehensive when faced with the prospect of a drug test. There is often a lot riding on such a test, and future employment, job security, and even personal freedom may be at stake. It is therefore a good idea to learn as much as you can about the different drug testing procedures and what you can do to prevent a “positive” result.
If you know for certain that you have drugs in your system, the best possible way to protect yourself is to stop taking the drug as soon as possible. If you know you have a drug test coming up in a few weeks, there may be enough time for the drugs to leave your system before you have to take the test. The main drawback to this method is drug testing is often done randomly, with little advance notice as to when it will take place.
It is a good idea to increase your water intake in the days leading up to the test, and even drink as much water as is safe in general. Water is good for you anyway, and it will help flush out toxins–drug-related or otherwise–whether or not you are going to be tested for drugs. In any case, increasing your water intake might dilute your urine enough to show negative when it comes time for you to take the test.
Again, this is not an ideal solution. There is a risk of water intoxication when drinking water in excessive amounts, and the results can be even more serious than failing a drug test. Many testers are also familiar with this method, and they will likely figure out that you have tried to tamper with the test results by checking the color and composition of your urine. There are ways to get around this to be sure. You can take a vitamin B supplement for example, or increase your intake of red meat, which will help restore creatinine lost by dilution. However, these methods have just as much chance of detection and failure as any others. In the worse case scenario, your urine sample may even be flagged as tampered on the basis of this evidence.
The other option is using a detox product to pass your drug test. There are several different types of detoxification programs that range from temporary to permanent cleansing. Many manufacturers will indicated a weight range or usage guideline which will assist you in picking the correct product for you. The most common detox programs are generally offered in either beverage or capsules form, although there are mouthwash and shampoo detox products for hair and saliva tests. These products generally contain mega amounts of vitamins to prevent dilution, but it is not a guarantee against a diluted test.
